Skeet Reese – Stage 6 MLF Champion

Congratulations to our very own Grundéns Team Ambassador, Skeet Reese! Skeet brought home the Championship Trophy from the James River at this past weekend’s Stage Six of the Major League Fishing Bass Pro Tour—another addition to Skeet’s legendary bass fishing Hall of Fame career.  Skeet added win number 12 with a total of 54 pounds, 3 ounces on 23 scorable bass during Sunday’s championship round.  He showed no sign of letting off the gas from start to finish, and some are calling this one of the most memorable championship Sundays we’ve ever witnessed.

Skeet went on to tell the team at MLF “This is what I’ve been fishing for the last five years out here, trying to be in a position to hoist one of these Bass Pro Tour Trophies.  To beat the group of guys that we compete against – I mean, literally, this is the best group of anglers assembled ever in the history of the sport. So, to beat these guys, that means a lot to me.”

To add a little sweetness to this story, Day 1 of the tournament was Skeet’s daughter’s birthday. In typical Skeet fashion, he wished her a happy birthday live as he released yet another fish. Then, championship Sunday was Skeet’s birthday, and he gifted himself a big check, a big trophy, and another highlight to a legendary career.

Skeet was not the only Grundéns Team member fishing on championship Sunday; Gerald Spohrer and Jonathon Van Dam both finished in the top ten this past weekend on the James River.

From the whole team at Grundéns we want to say Congratulations and thank you for all that you do!
