Why is Grundéns undertaking this voluntary recall? 

Grundéns takes your safety and the safety of your families seriously.

 

In an abundance of caution, Grundéns is voluntarily recalling these children’s rain jackets in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

 

What is the Hazard? 

 A drawstring in the hood of the recalled jackets presents a substantial product hazard as it can get caught on objects and cause death or serious injury to children due to strangulation

 

What should I do?
We strongly encourage you to follow the directions in this recall.

 

You should immediately take the recalled jackets away from children. You may remove (cut off) the drawstrings to eliminate the hazard. We have put together simple instructions for you to remove the drawstrings from the hood using household scissors. You can download those instructions here.
  

Option A: Once you’ve removed the drawstrings, fill out the form below to let us know your product has been fixed, and we’ll give you a 20% discount code good for any purchase on our website

What jackets are affected by this recall?

Only the Youth Clipper and Zenith jackets in sizes 8 -12. None of our other children’s jackets are affected.

Have there been any incidents relating to these jackets?

No. Thankfully there have not been any reports of incidents
relating to these jackets. However, safety is our top priority, and we are
issuing this recall to eliminate this hazard.

What should I do to take part in the recall?

First, immediately take the jacket away from the child.

Then,you may remove the drawstrings by cutting them off with household scissors and, upon registration, you will receive a 20% discount code good for any purchase
on our website, including our bigger ticket items. Removing the drawstrings
eliminates the hazard and the jacket continues to be safe for use.

Alternatively, consumers may return the jacket to Grundens for a full refund.
